Acacia is located in a lovely wooded and natural setting along the Rancocas Creek in Burlington County, NJ. Acacia is also conveniently located within walking distance to stores, banks and public transportation. Acounty mini-bus operates Monday through Friday offering free transportation to local malls and shopping centers.
Eligibility and Cost:
Acacia-Lumberton Manor offers federally assisted housing for single, married or related couples 62 years or older. Residents must qualify under the income limits set by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and the occupancy policy established by the sponsor.
Application:
All applications must be made in writing on forms available from the management office. The opportunity to be placed on a waiting list is offered on a continuing basis. Acacia Manor is typically 100% occupied at all times with an approximate wait time for occupancy of 1 to 3 years. Rent & Utility Info:
Monthly rent is based upon the resident's income in a formula specified by HUD. Cable and telephone charges are the responsibility of the resident.
History
Acacia Lumberton Manor was built by the F & AM (Free and Accepted Masons) as a project for Senior Citizens in 1972 under the HUD Section 236 Program. In 1974 Acacia Lumberton Manor opened its doors to provide quality affordable housing to individuals aged 62 and over.
Consisting of 11 buildings that house 166 apartments, the garden apartments consist of 32 efficiency units, 118 one bedroom units and 16 two bedroom units. Nine recently converted apartments are designed for physically challenged and wheelchair accessible clientele and two have been equipped to assist the hearing and visually impaired. This garden style apartment complex creates a close knit neighborhood of beautifully landscaped gardens and gazebos for the enjoyment of residents and convenient access to ground transportation. The acquisition of (86) LMSA Section 8 certificates has contributed to our resident retention program as well as resident satisfaction.
