ABOUT James M. McGrath, Founder & President
The founder and President and CEO of PRD Management, Inc., James McGrath has spent 35 years dedicated to planning, consulting and managing multi-family housing. He firmly believes in the philosophy of “service to others” and has built his career around that commitment.

PRD helps building owners provide residents with beautiful, spacious and affordable surroundings in which to live. However, Jim’s approach goes beyond bricks and mortar. He takes special care to ensure that residents have access to personnel who can connect them to public transportation, Meals on Wheels and other essential services which help them to maintain an independent lifestyle.

Housing has been Jim’s passion throughout his career. PRD manages roughly 1,800 units in 17 subsidized projects, including four buildings that serve the handicapped. PRD has won numerous awards, including Communities of Quality Awards from the National Affordable Housing Management Association (NAHMA) and New Jersey Affordable Housing Management Association (JAHMA), best practices awards from HUD, and a great number and variety of awards from the New Jersey Apartment Association (NJAA).

Since its inception in 1976, PRD Management has grown into a dedicated team of professionals who work diligently to provide equal opportunity affordable housing for low income families, senior citizens and physically challenged individuals. By maintaining and restoring housing communities, PRD helps building owners provide residents with beautiful, spacious and affordable surroundings in which to live.

Jim is a licensed real estate broker and licensed professional planner the State of New Jersey. A graduate of St. Joseph’s College School of Business in Philadelphia, McGrath also earned a master’s degree in Urban Planning from Michigan State University. He has many professional affiliations, including two years as President of the NAHMA, Co-Chair of the New Jersey Housing Management Task Force of the New Jersey Housing & Mortgage Finance Agency, as well as board membership for St. Joseph’s Carpenter Society in Camden and the NJ Apartment Association. Jim is also a founding member of the NJ Affordable Housing Management Association and a founding member of the PennDel Affordable Housing Management Association.

Jim has been the recipient of numerous industry awards, including the recent honor of NAHMA’s annual President’s Award, one of that organization’s highest awards, presented to someone who has made an outstanding contribution to the cause of affordable housing.
